Biography:

Sine Lam is an emerging visual artist based in Ontario, Canada. With a background in fashion design and visual arts, she creates atmospheric paintings inspired by time, quiet interiors, everyday life, and fleeting moments of beauty. Influenced by minimal aesthetics, her work explores light, breathing space, and the emotional presence found in everyday scenes, stillness and objects. Her paintings create space and remind to slow down, and reconnect with moments of quiet beauty, nature and solitude. Her work has been exhibited in group exhibitions, including at the Marianne van Silfhout Gallery and Fulford Place.

Statement:

My artwork explores light, atmosphere, and quiet moments found in everyday life. I am drawn to the way sunlight, city glow, shadows, and ordinary objects can hold emotion without the need for a dramatic story. Through colour, composition, and painterly marks, I create images that encourage viewers to slow down and notice the beauty in often overlooked moments. I am particularly interested in things that are temporary — fading light, flowers in bloom, silent interiors, and passing moments in the city. My paintings explore themes of presence, memory, and the emotional connection we form with places, objects, and moments in time.
